An administrative protocol has been submitted to the Nikulinsky District Court in Moscow concerning the Kazakh musician Icyk Tsyper (real name – Igor Tsyba) in a case related to drug propaganda. The corresponding case card has appeared in the Moscow general jurisdiction courts database, reports Forbes.
The administrative case card indicates that the performer is charged under Article 6.13, Part 2 of the Administrative Offenses Code (“Propaganda of narcotic substances by a foreign citizen”). The maximum penalty for this offense includes a fine ranging from four to thirty thousand rubles (up to 151 thousand tenge) with subsequent deportation from Russia, or imprisonment for up to 15 days. Igor Tsyba is 62 years old, hailing from Kostanay. He is the author of the song “Dymok,” which gained popularity on social media and was released in August 2023 under the Icykcyperpro label.
Previously, Russian authorities attempted to restrict access to the song “Dymok.” After the track gained popularity on social media and topped the trends on TikTok, Russian public organizations, such as the “Veterans of Russia” society, appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation asking for the song to be banned. As a result, “Dymok” was temporarily blocked on YouTube within Russian territory. The track has garnered a total of 71 million views.
