According to Akorda, the head of our state noted that Guinea-Bissau is an important partner for Kazakhstan on the African continent.
"We are very interested in strengthening bilateral relations. I believe that we have very good prospects, given that the governments of both countries will make every effort to find additional opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. We share similar views on current international issues, and we are ready to expand our contacts with your representatives in key international structures, primarily in the UN, as well as in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," the president emphasized.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed out the existing potential for developing ties between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau in areas such as agriculture, mining, digitalization, transport, and logistics.
Umaro Sissoco Embalo expressed gratitude to the head of our state for the hospitality shown on Kazakh soil.
"Close interaction with your country is of great importance to us. I visited here as Prime Minister. Previously, students from Guinea-Bissau studied in your country, many of whom were technical specialists. We want to continue cooperation in this area because we are confident that we can learn a lot from Kazakhstan," said Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
The heads of state also exchanged views on pressing global and regional issues.
On December 18, 2024, a ceremonial meeting took place in Akorda for the president of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
